As the requirements to contain the corona virus became increasingly stringent, eight young female photography students from Dortmund and Essen joined forces for the free project "Hauspoststille". In what ways can we remain in exchange with each other despite social distancing and a ban of contact? This question as well as the need for creative expression within the framework of the strongly limited possibilities were the original triggers for developing a common project work.
Based on the children's game "Stille Post", the project is a continuous chain of pictures - each day a photo is taken by one of the participants and passed on to the next in the chain. The subsequent photographic response is in turn passed on as well, resulting in an ongoing chain of communication. The project was kicked off on March 19, 2020 with the first photo and has continued since then, with more than 1,000 posts. It can be followed daily on Instagram. Hauspoststille is a group project that encourages creativity, increases the visibility of each participant, and promotes collaboration in digital as well as physical spaces.
